You can claim, up to your cover level limit, 100% of your dental and optical costs and up to 50% of other health costs including prescription charges, physiotherapy, earwax removal, chiropody and much more. It also pays a fixed sum if you have to spend time in hospital. See the table of benefits for more details. It covers NHS and private treatment, there’s no medical and no annual contract.

When you register for Sovereign’s online customer area, not only can you claim online, you can also access a 24-hour GP service where you can speak to a practising NHS GP wherever you are in the world. Plus, through Sovereign Perks you can access a range of online and high street discounts.

Up to four dependent children covered for free!

For no extra cost, an adult’s plan covers up to four dependent children, aged under 18, for many of the benefits. What’s more, you can pay to cover your partner or other family members, so they too can enjoy the exclusive benefits of the Morrisons health care cash plan.

Claiming is easy

You can claim from day one and you have 12 months from the date of treatment to make a claim. Some benefits have a qualifying period or a 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions, click here for more details. Claiming is easy – just pay your bill as normal and ask for a receipt with your name on it. You can claim online or by post and the money can be paid into your bank account. You cannot currently make dependent child claims online and should send these by post.

Who can join?

This health care cash plan is exclusively for Morrisons colleagues and as long as you are an employee of Morrisons you can apply to join. No medical is needed and the same price applies to everyone regardless of age or medical history. Plus, for no extra cost, an adult’s plan covers up to four dependent children, aged under 18, for many of the benefits. You can also pay to cover your partner or a family member, and if they join before 30 November 2024 they’ll receive £30 in Morrisons vouchers too as a thank you.*

How much can I claim?

This example is based on you having level 3 cover, which costs £2.94 per person per week (£152.88 per year). If you were to claim on dental, optical, physiotherapy and prescription costs you could get £278.35 cash back on the £373.20 you spent on treatment. Please note physiotherapy has a 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions.

How do I make a claim?

Claiming is easy – you can send your claim online or by post, it’s entirely up to you! Once received, your claim will be processed promptly and your money can go directly into your bank account. You’ve got plenty of time to claim, a whole 12 months from when you received treatment. You cannot currently make dependent child claims online and should send these by post.

How soon can I claim?

When you join the Morrisons health care cash plan you can claim straightaway for treatment received from the date your policy starts. However, certain benefits do have a qualifying period or a 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions. The birth/adoption benefit has a 6 month qualifying period. A 6 month qualifying period for pre-existing conditions applies on physiotherapy/osteopathy/ chiropractic/sports massage, hospital in-patient, recuperation, hospital day case admission, hospital consultant fees and diagnostic tests, hearing aids and specialist medical aids.

How do I apply?

Applying is easy, simply fill in the short online application form. You’ll need your employee ID number to join – you can find this on your pay slip.

I’m an existing policyholder, can I cover my partner or a family member?

If you are a Morrisons colleague and already a policyholder, you can apply to cover your partner or family members so they too can enjoy the exclusive benefits of the Morrisons health care cash plan. What’s more, they’ll also receive £30 in Morrisons vouchers, if they join before 30 November 2024!* To apply to cover a partner or family member simply:

I’m an existing policyholder, can I change my level of cover?

You can increase or decrease your level of cover to suit your needs and budget, though you must remain at your new level of cover for 12 months before you change again. To change your level of cover simply:
